Class 1 - Jr. Wethers: Under 6 months

1st Place
Stormy Stormy Stormy
Faint-Hearted Ranch Stormy ~ Owned by Faint-Hearted Ranch (Lancaster, CA) ~ DOB: 01-12-10 ~ DOLP: 02-28-10
Judge's comments: First Place - Straight back, nice blending from the neck down to the rump.  Nice ear set but would like to see a bit larger head to blend with the body better.

2nd Place
Redneck Redneck Redneck
Bakken's Farm Redneck ~ Owned by Bakken's Farm (Independence, KS) ~ DOB: 01-10-10 ~ DOLP: 04-03-10
Judge's comments: Second Place - Placed 2nd because of the nice muscling throughout the body.   Hard to tell how straight his top line is because there are no pictures of him with his head up.  Thick boned throughout the legs.  The head and ears look like Boer/Nubian influence, would have placed him higher with the typical fainter look in his head and ears.

3rd Place
Ossy Ossy Ossy
Faint-Hearted Ranch Osier ~ Owned by Roxie Collins (Valley Center, CA) ~ DOB: 01-08-10 ~ DOLP: 01-10-10
Judge's comments: Third Place - Placed 3rd because he is not quite as muscled as the 2nd place goat.  But he blends well throughout.  Nice thick neck.  He has a nice fainter type head and ear set.  In this picture his croup is a little steep.

4th Place Trailbreaker Trailbreaker Click to enlarge Trailbreaker
R Fainting Trailbreaker ~ Owned by R Fainting Farm (Mobile, AL) ~ DOB: 01-05-09 ~ DOLP: 03-09-09
Judge's comments: Fourth Place - Placed 4th because of the height in the rump.  The 2nd and 3rd place goats are straighter along the top line.  I have to say that I love this little wether.  Since he is only 3 months, I hope his front end catches up with his back end.  He has a really nice thickness throughout.

5th Place
Squiggy Click to enlarge Squiggy Squiggy
Ahart Acres Squiggy ~ Owned by Ahart Acres (Lebanon, OR) ~ DOB: 02-01-10 ~ DOLP: 04-01-10
Judge's comments: Fifth Place - Placed 5th because legs look straighter, croup is better and muscling is more apparent throughout.  Although, this goat looks to have pygmy influence throughout especially in the face and ears.  His back is straight and croup is nice.

Participant
Ned Ned Ned
Triple-T Ned ~ Owned by Triple-T Ranch (Ramona, CA) ~ DOB: 12-26-09 ~ DOLP: 03-21-10
Judge's comments: Sixth Place - Placed 6th because this goat is very slight throughout. Not heavily muscled especially though the neck and legs. Front legs look to be a bit “knock kneed”.

Participant
Lenny Lenny Lenny
Ahart Acres Lenny ~ Owned by Ahart Acres (Lebanon, OR) ~ DOB: 02-02-10 ~ DOLP: 04-01-10
Judge's comments: Seventh Place - In the pictures… front legs seem to bend backwards (laxity in the tendons) and in front pictures legs seem to turn in. He is higher from the middle of the animal to the rump. Nice separation in the back legs though.

Class 2 - Jr. Wethers: 6 to under 12 months

1st Place
Little Bit Little Bit Little Bit
Triple-T Little Bit ~ Owned by Triple-T Ranch (Ramona, CA) ~ DOB: 01-21-09 ~ DOLP: 01-10-10
Judge's comments: First Place - Nice wether, straight back, nice angulation in the legs.

Champion & Reserve Champion Junior Wether
Champion will be selected from the 1st place winners of classes 1-2.  Reserve Champion will be selected from
the remaining 1st place winners and the animal standing 2nd in the class from which the Champion was selected.

Champion Junior Wether
Reserve Champion Junior Wether
Faint-Hearted Ranch Stormy ~ Owned by Faint-Hearted Ranch
Bakken's Farm Redneck ~ Owned by Bakken's Farm
Judge's Comments: My Jr Champion wether blends so nice throughout with thicker legs and neck.  Croup has a gradual slope.
Judge's Comments: I picked this goat as my Reserve Champion because
of his muscling throughout the body.  Looks like a highly muscled meat
goat.  If this was an intact male this goat would have not been placed at
this level.  But from a meat goat perspective (with no possibility of
reproducing), I think the body on this goat  is in a class of its own.

Class 3 - Yearling Wethers: 12 to under 24 months

1st Place Squirt Squirt Squirt
Pyradise Farm Squirt ~ Owned by Pyradise Farm (Firth, Nebraska) ~ DOB: 05-03-08 ~ DOLP: 04-03-10
Judge's Comments: Overall muscling throughout this goat is much larger than my 2nd place goat.

2nd Place
George George George
No-Knees Zoo George ~ Owned by The Delta-S (Beatty, OR) ~ DOB: 03-02-09 ~ DOLP: 04-06-10
Judge's Comments: The 1st place goat has about 12 months of growth over this goat which is a huge 12 months at this growth stage.  He is a nice little wether.

Class 4 - Senior Wethers: 24 months and over

1st Place Benny Benny Benny
OMG Benny ~ Owned by Ole Mac Gramma's (South Woodslee, Ontario) ~ DOB: 04-26-07 ~ DOLP: 04-06-10
Judge's Comments: Nice muscling in the neck and throughout the body.

Champion & Reserve Champion Senior Wether
Champion will be selected from the 1st place winners of classes 3-4.  Reserve Champion will be selected from
the remaining 1st place winners and the animal standing 2nd in the class from which the Champion was selected.

Champion Senior Wether
Reserve Champion Senior Wether
OMG Benny ~ Owned by Ole Mac Gramma's
Pyradise Farm Squirt ~ Owned by Pyradise Farm
Judge's Comments: Sometimes its hard to tell in pictures what is fat and what is muscle.  I believe this goat to be muscled better throughout.  I also think that his back legs have a better angulation than my Reserve Sr Champion.
Judge's Comments: Nice width in this goat, back legs seem a bit posty.

GRAND CHAMPION & RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION WETHER
Grand Champion will be selected from the junior and senior Champion wethers.  Reserve Grand Champion will be selected from
the remaining Champions and the Reserve Champion animal from which the Grand Champion was selected.

Grand Champion Wether
Reserve Grand Champion Wether
Faint-Hearted Ranch Stormy ~ Faint-Hearted Ranch
OMG Benny ~ Owned by Ole Mac Gramma's
Judge's Comments: My Grand Champion Wether is a beautiful wether.  He blends so nicely throughout.  Really wide in the shoulders for an animal of his age.  I think he will grow into a really nice wether.
Judge's Comments: Yes, this buck is heavier in muscling (especially given his age), but I think he is lacking the overall blending that my Grand Champion Wether has.  In the picture, I see some possible laxity in the front legs.
