Class 1 - Jr. Wethers (or wethers to be): Under 3 months

Entry #7 ~ Points Earned = 3.5
Frozen Fainters Top-O-Raman ~ Owned by Hush Hill Fainters (White Samon, WA) ~ DOB: 04-28-17 ~ DOLP: 05-02-17
Judge's comments: Although one of the youngest in the class, I am placing him first over the rest for the topline he demonstrates while on the move, length of body as well as the width of body for his size and overall balance

Entry #1 ~ Points Earned = 3.0
Keifer's Gunsmoke ~ Owned by Hanna's Upside Down Goats (New Virginia, IA) ~ DOB: 03-13-17 ~ DOLP: 05-06-17
Judge's comments: I am placing him 2nd in the class as I feel he is blended more smoothly than the goats behind him. He demonstrates a nice topline, slope of rump and muscling for this age. He stands very straight on those front legs and has a very nice and correct myotonic head. I also have I feel he is lacking width to the chest to place him higher today, but as he matures that width may come.

Entry #2 ~ Points Earned = 2.5
Bangos Funny Kid Wild Fire ~ Owned by Nicholas Bango (Dekalb Junction, NY) ~ DOB: 03-02-17 ~ DOLP: 05-09-17
Judge's comments: I am placing this guy 3rd today. He too is demonstrating a nice topline. He has a nice length, thickness and balance of body. In photo 1 I can see he is standing very square on his legs and is smoothly blended from his neck to his rump. I would like to add a little more length to his legs to place him higher in the class today.

Entry #3
K Creek Farms Zacchaeus ~ Owned by Sonny’s 305 Farms (Lowell, IN) ~ DOB: 03-14-17 ~ DOLP: 05-16-17
Judge's comments: This is my 4th place goat his overall width is placing him above the goats behind him. He stands wide on his legs for his size, has a nice top line and barrel size. I would like to see more length to his body and better rear leg angulation to place him hire today.

Entry #4
Erickson Tundra Tippers Gus ~ Owned by Erickson Tundra Tippers (Belle Plaine, MN) ~ DOB: 03-06-17 ~ DOLP: 04-03-17
Judge's comments: My 5th place goat here is very striking and nice to look at with his deep red color and blue eyes. He stands very correct on his feet and is well balanced. I believe with maturity he will add size, width and muscle which could move him forward in placement in this class in the future.

Entry #5
Rising S Noel ~ Owned by Rising S Ranch (West Warren, Utah) ~ DOB: 12-24-16 ~ DOLP: 03-18-17
Judge's comments: My 6th place goat today shows nice length and topline which is well blended. He stands straight on those back legs, but for his age I would like to add overall size and muscle to place him higher today.

Entry #6
Frozen Fainters Beast of the Barn ~ Owned by Hush Hill Fainters (White Samon, WA) ~ DOB: 04-28-17 ~ DOLP: 05-20-17
Judge's comments: My 7th place goat does have nice width for his age but I would like to see a straighter topline while on the move and for him to stand straighter on his back legs.  Unfortunately at this age a lot of times there length of leg grows at a different rate and they can be unbalanced, so as he matures he may grow out of this.

Class 2 - Jr. Wethers: 3 to under 6 months

Entry #1 ~ Points Earned = 3.0
Shearogg Fainters Hampton ~ Owned by Hanna's Upside Down Goats (New Virginia, IA) ~ DOB: 12-20-16 ~ DOLP: 05-06-17
Judge's comments: I am placing this goat at the top of the class as he is demonstrating mostly what a myotonic goat should look like. He is heavily muscled and blended smoothly through out. I like how the thickness of his neck carries through the brisket, shoulders, barrel to the rump. He does show a minor display outwards of the front feet, but legs are parallel and straight and the rest of his qualities still brings him to the top.

Entry #5 ~ Points Earned = 2.5
Bucking Adoeable Genesis ~ Owned by Bucking Adoeable Fainters (Ramona, CA) ~ DOB: 10-28-16 ~ DOLP: 04-05-17
Judge's comments: My second place goat may not be my largest goat, but I feel is better put together over all to place him above the rest in the class. He is standing straight and correct on his legs and feet, has nice width for his size and is smoothly blended. I also have to commend him for his head and ear set. He just does not have the size or capacity to move into that 1st place spot today.

Entry #4 ~ Points Earned = 2.0
Ahart Acres Lord Varys ~ Owned by Two Owls Farm (Dundee, Oregon) ~ DOB: 01-14-17 ~ DOLP: 05-20-17
Judge's comments: My third and fourth place goats have some give and take, but I am placing this guy above my 4th place goat because I feel his front and a back leg are more correct and he is standing more correct on his front feet. He is nicely muscled throughout.

Entry #3
Hanna's Crackle ~ Owned by Hanna's Upside Down Goats (New Virginia, IA) ~ DOB: 11-04-16 ~ DOLP: 04-04-17
Judge's comments: My 4th place goat has a nice length of body which is smoothly blended from shoulder to rump with a nice top line. I feel he has a nice amount of muscling. I would like to see him standing more correct on those front feet to place him higher.

Entry #2
Hanna's Crunch ~ Owned by Hanna's Upside Down Goats (New Virginia, IA) ~ DOB: 11-04-16 ~ DOLP: 04-04-17
Judge's comments: My 5th place goat has nice muscle. I like his width for his size, but is narrow in the front in comparison to the back. I appreciate his thickness of neck. , However he is lacking rear leg angulation, length of body to be placed any higher.

Entry #6
Triple-T Patriot ~ Owned by Courtney Teichert (Ramona, CA) ~ DOB: 12-10-16 ~ DOLP: 05-31-17
Judge's comments: I have to commend my 6th place goat for real nice length of body and topline. He is also carrying a nice head and ear set. However he is lacking the overall width and muscle we want to see in a myotonic to place higher in his class.

Class 3 - Jr. Wethers: 6 to under 12 months

Entry #2 ~ Points Earned = 1.0
Rising S Handsome Jack ~ Owned by Rising S Ranch (West Warren, Utah) ~ DOB: 10-01-15 ~ DOLP: 09-10-16
Judge's comments: My first place goat in this class needs to be commended for the amount of muscle he is carrying over his body. He is smoothly blended, wide and has a nice length of body and topline to carry that muscle. He has a very alert expression along with a nice myotonic head.

Entry #1
~ Points Earned = 0.5
Rising S Nitro ~ Owned by Rising S Ranch (West Warren, Utah) ~ DOB: 06-02-16 ~ DOLP: 05-18-17
Judge's comments: My second place goat also show a good example of the myotonic head, and is a nice looking goat. He too has nice length of body and capacity but has a little steeper of a rump and is lacking the muscle that we see in our first place goat.

Junior Champion & Reserve Junior Champion Wether

Rising S Handsome Jack
Owned by Rising S Ranch
(West Warren, Utah)
Shearogg Fainters Hampton
Owned by Hanna's Upside Down Goats
(New Virginia, IA)
Judge's comments: My pick for Jr. champion wether is a great example of the myotoic goat which we sometime have to remember is a meat goat. The amount of muscle he is carrying over his body and thickness of bone is what we like to see at this age to be profitable in the market. In addition, he exhibits a lot of the other specific myotonic qualities and appears in good condition and healthy. Judge's comments: My Reserve junior champion is my pick for the top of his class. This is not to take away from the 2nd place goat in class 3 behind my jr. Champion pick.  I feel that this goat offers thicker neck, chest and body as well as a thicker bone although younger.
