Judge's comments: 2nd Place – Very proportional goat, well balanced.  Blends nicely from the neck to the rump, strong chest.  More overall balance than the 1st place goat but lacks the muscling that I am giving the 1st place goat credit for.

Judge's Comments: I really like this buckling. He is more well balanced throughout than my Reserve buck.  Giving credit to the Reserve for the muscling, but I need to give the Champion goat credit for balance, nice top line and more correct rump.

Judge's comments: 3rd Place – This is a very nicely balanced buck.  I am so impressed with the overall body capacity, depth and muscling but in the front view picture it looks like he is x legged.  Otherwise he would be put in 2nd place.

Entry #5

4 Bending Tree ranch Olympus Bending Tree ranch Olympus Bending Tree ranch Olympus
Bending Tree ranch Olympus ~ Owned by Gray Robin Ranch (Gravette, AR) ~ DOB: 05-02-09 ~ DOLP: 04-17-11
Judge's comments: 4th Place – I might have flip flopped 3rd and 4th if I had a better (front view) picture of the front legs.  Also, in the 1st picture it looks like he could be low in the rear pastern.  It is also represented in the 3rd picture of the hoof on the ground, the declaw looks close to the ground.  Otherwise, he has nice body capacity, nice width and muscling in the rear.

CartAngel Acres Midnight Express ~ Owned by Gray Robin Ranch (Gravette, AR) ~ DOB: 05-14-08 ~ DOLP: 01-17-11
Judge's comments: 3rd Place – I believe that this is a goat that will show better in person than in pictures.  He has nice muscling and angulation in the rear. It looks like there is a drop behind the withers and looks like he is a bit pinched in the shoulders and heart girth.

Judge's comments: 2nd Place- This buck is so regal looking, I just love him.  I love how balanced he is from the head through the rump and down into the thigh.  I placed him in 2nd because of his rear legs.  He looks cow hocked in the rear.  I would like to see his front legs better in the front view picture.

Entry #2

B's Barn Farm Zander ~ Owned by Indian Creek Fainters (Lerna, IL ) ~ DOB: 02-19-08 ~ DOLP: 05-03-11

Judge's comments: 1st Place – You just can't ignore the massive muscling in this buck.  Even though he is so massive, he is still very balanced with nice width between his front and rear legs.

Entry #3

2 QR Rodeo Star QR Rodeo Star QR Rodeo Star
Quinton Ranch Rodeo Star ~ Owned by Triple-T Ranch (Ramona, CA) ~ DOB: 07-24-04 ~ DOLP: 05-01-11
Judge's comments: 2nd Place – It’s really hard to tell between my 2nd place and 3rd place, under all the hair, without putting my hands on them. So I am left with picking the most balanced buck.  This buck is nicely balanced and nice muscling through the rear.

Entry #4

3 Apache Landing Yankee Apache Landing Yankee Apache Landing Yankee
Apache Landing Yankee ~ Owned by Jill Wallace (Casey, IL) ~ DOB: 02-16-06 ~ DOLP: 04-30-11
Judge's comments: 3rd Place – This buck is a very hardy strong buck.  I don’t see the muscling in the rear like I do in the 2nd place goat.  In both picture I feel the 2nd place goat’s feet point more correctly forward.
